3dsDL
Nintendo 3DS homebrew that downloads files straight to the SD card from a URL or a scanned QR code.
3dsDL gets files onto your 3DS without pulling the SD card out.
Point the console’s camera at a QR code, or type a URL with the on-screen keyboard, and 3dsDL downloads the file straight to the SD card. It’s a modern take on Multidownload, an old 3DS homebrew downloader.
It’s at v0.2.0, a development build. The download engine works on a New 3DS, and the new interface and camera preview are still waiting on their full hardware pass.
Features
- QR code scanning with the 3DS camera
- Verified HTTPS with a bundled certificate store, and redirects that just work
- Streams downloads to the SD card instead of holding the whole file in memory
- Uses the server’s filename, remembers your download folder, and shows progress (press B to cancel)
- Asks before overwriting, with rename, overwrite or cancel
- Touch and button controls with a Citro2D UI
Built With
- C and C++ with libctru and Citro2D
- libcurl and mbedTLS for downloads
- quirc for QR decoding
- Reproducible .3dsx and .cia builds in Docker
GPLv3, like the project it grew from.
