What Mixtunes is

Mixtunes is an independent browser extension: a classic iTunes theme for Spotify, YouTube Music, SoundCloud and Apple Music. YouTube Music works today; the other hosts are under development. It is a fan-made homage to mid-2000s music software and is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

No affiliation or endorsement

Mixtunes is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Apple Inc., Google LLC, Spotify AB, SoundCloud Limited, or any other music service or platform. “iTunes” and “Cover Flow” are trademarks of Apple Inc. “YouTube” and “YouTube Music” are trademarks of Google LLC. “Spotify” is a trademark of Spotify AB. “SoundCloud” is a trademark of SoundCloud Limited. These names are used only to describe compatibility and inspiration, and remain the property of their respective owners. The visual style of Mixtunes is an original homage; no Apple or Google artwork, icons, or fonts are distributed with it.

Your use of third-party services

Mixtunes operates inside the tab of the music service you already use and does not bypass any login, payment, or access controls. Your use of YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, or any other service remains governed by that provider’s own terms of service. On music.youtube.com, Mixtunes reads and controls the player page only to render its theme. On this marketing site it may report its installed version, as described in the privacy policy. If a provider objects to third-party themes or overlays, that provider’s terms control your use of their site, and you should disable Mixtunes there.

The marketing site at ankush.one/mixtunes may use PostHog (via a first-party proxy) for website analytics, as described in the privacy policy. That analytics stack is not part of the browser extension.

License

The Mixtunes source is available for inspection in the project’s public repository and is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (see LICENSE in the repository). You may use, study, and modify the software per that license. You may not present Mixtunes or its branding as your own product or imply endorsement by any trademark owner named above.

No warranty

Mixtunes is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Music sites change frequently; features may break at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author shall not be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from, out of, or in connection with Mixtunes or your use thereof, including loss of data, account issues, or actions taken by a third-party service.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the extension evolves; the date above changes with material updates. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
